Donkerhoek Quarry – Finer fragmentation

Part of Brikor Limited - Donkerhoek wanted to achieve optimum safety, enhanced fragmentation and environmental control at its operations in Pretoria East in Gauteng.

Solution
AEL managed the full rock-on-ground services contract, which includes managing the drilling contractor and all blasting related operations, as well as the supply of products and accessories.  AEL DigiShot Electronic detonating systems were an answer to the operation's challenges.

Outcome
Not only did the operation achieve accurate timing benefits, optimum safety, fragmentation uniformity and less impact on the environment, they also concentrated on their core business and let AEL handle the total blasting operation.
