Large Surface Mines Adopt Electronic Detonators |
|
Why have a substantial number of customers in surface mining in Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America converted from conventional pyrotechnic initiation systems to the AEL’s DigiShot Plus system over the past few years?
It’s because these mines have experienced enormous benefits Features and Benefits throughout their operations, as well as peace of mind using a system that is robust, safe and efficient.

AEL Mining Services, in conjunction with high-tech electronic initiating system developers, DetNet have pioneered and spearheaded the development and production of electronic detonators since the early 1990s.
More than 20 years later, the DigiShot Plus system – a third generation electronic initiating system - is the system of choice for many of the large surface mining operations, particularly in the gold, platinum and coal sectors. The DigiShot Plus system is specifically geared for these applications, especially where large blasting and remote firing capabilities are required.
The system is incredibly robust, handling extreme weather conditions - from - 30˚ to above 80˚. Firing capabilities are outstanding with a maximum of 7,200 detonators per blast.
