With reducing carbon footprints and other factors in mind, AEL Mining Services has developed the S200 Eco range of emulsion explosives - an ammonium nitrate / calcium nitrate (AN/CN) formulation. This range was initially developed for hot-hole blasting, where temperature resistant emulsions were required in surface coal mining.
